ATR #132 – GeekGirlCon 2018 w/ Kristine Hassell!

A special early edition of the podcast that is all about GeekGirlCon 2018 which happened this past weekend! After the con, I sat down with Kristine Hassell (@GermancityGirl), the director of community outreach and we talked all about this amazing convention!

This was the 8th annual GeekGirlCon and I absolutely love attending this event. Part of mission statement states: “GeekGirlCon is an organization that works to empower women and girls to pursue their passions—whether they love science and technology, comics, literature, gaming, or anything else! Everybody is a geek at heart, in one way or another. Our mission is to ensure all these geeks are supported, welcomed, and encouraged to pursue what they love.”

I highly encourage everyone to check out their website to learn more: www.GeekGirlCon.com, which will also be the place to find the best notes on the panels and guests that were involved.
Kristine Hassell has been involved with GeekGirlCon for the past 7 years and continues to be such an amazing positive force in the community, and has truly helped grow this convention into something amazing.

This was my third year attending this convention (previous years coverage can be found here: 2016 and 2017) and this year I really wanted to focus my coverage on attending several panels to broaden my scope of topics and experts.
